Improvised Dorayaki: Nutella-filled pancakes

My kids love Doraemon and they want to try his favorite food: Dorayaki!

I really don’t think they’ll love the sweet bean filling so I decided to improvise. I had a jar of Nutella in the pantry which I knew will come in handy!

For the pancake, I used my tested recipe. I assure you, you will never go wrong with this recipe. No need to buy pancake mix anymore! And I’m sure you have the ingredients in your pantry!Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons baking powder
5 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
1 pinch salt
2 eggs
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups milk

Directions:
In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients together.

In another bowl, beat the eggs, add the oil and milk. Mix well.

Pour liquid mixture into the bowl of dry mixture. Mix together. Don’t worry if there are small lumps of flour.

Heat a skillet or pan in low heat. Grease the pan with olive oil. Pour a ladle full of the pancake mixture. When all bubbles have already bursted, flip the pancake. The secret to a nice pancake is “patience” and low heat ^^)

This recipe makes 20 small soft, sponge-like pancakes.

Here are some of the pancakes I have already made.

Get two pancakes. Spread nutella on one of the pancakes. I always divide the “Dorayaki” in half before serving it to the kids.

Quick. Easy. Yum! ^^)

Enjoy!

P.S. I think, this would also be fab with peanut butter! or Jam! ^^)
